Rockhampton Pet Expo 2026 – Training, Education and Community

Rockhampton Pet Expo 2026 was a fantastic day of education, training, community and plenty of public interaction for Born Bold Cats and The Smart Cat Society.

Held on 5 September 2026, the event gave us the opportunity to speak with pet owners, demonstrate practical training techniques and share more about feline behaviour, enrichment and responsible breeding.

One of the highlights of the day was our stage work and presentations, where we demonstrated how positive reinforcement can be used to teach cats new skills, build confidence and improve communication between cats and their humans.

The presentations also created some great conversations around the similarities between cat and dog training. It was particularly rewarding to work alongside other like-minded trainers and pet professionals who also use positive reinforcement and reward-based training techniques.

While cats and dogs may learn and respond differently, the foundations remain very similar — clear communication, consistency, appropriate rewards and creating an environment where the animal feels safe and motivated to participate.

Our stall was busy throughout the day, with plenty of visitors stopping to meet the cats, ask questions and talk about training, behaviour, enrichment, kitten development and life with confident companion cats.

Events like Rockhampton Pet Expo are important because they bring together trainers, breeders, pet professionals and the wider community in one place, creating opportunities to share knowledge and promote modern, humane approaches to animal training.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall, watched our presentations, asked questions and joined in the conversations throughout the day.

Rockhampton, you were fantastic.
