The Townsville Cat Expo 2026 was an unforgettable weekend for Born Bold Cats, combining an important health milestone with the opportunity to educate hundreds of cat lovers through live demonstrations and public engagement.

Before the expo, all of our current breeding cats underwent comprehensive HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) heart screening, providing peace of mind that our breeding program continues to prioritise health, welfare and responsible breeding practices. This annual screening remains a cornerstone of our commitment to producing healthy, confident Sphynx and Elf cats.

The following day, Sir Dobby returned to the stage alongside his young understudy, Kreature, delighting visitors with live demonstrations of positive reinforcement training. Together they showcased the intelligence, confidence and trainability of cats, proving that feline companions are capable of so much more than most people imagine.

Throughout the day, we met hundreds of visitors, answered questions about Sphynx and Elf cats, discussed feline behaviour and enrichment, and demonstrated how science-based training strengthens the relationship between cats and their families. Watching Kreature confidently take his place beside Sir Dobby marked an exciting milestone in the next generation of Born Bold ambassadors.

The Townsville Cat Expo reinforced everything Born Bold Cats and The Smart Cat Society stand for—ethical breeding, comprehensive health testing, lifelong education and helping owners better understand the incredible potential of their cats.

We would like to thank the organisers, volunteers and everyone who visited our stage presentations and stand. We are already looking forward to returning to Townsville for future events.
